Welcome to Inman Park

Inman Park is located south of Poncey-Highland, north of Reynoldstown, west of Candler Park, and just east of Old Fourth Ward.

This area was developed in the late 1800s, and was the first planned Atlanta suburb. It was created to allow people who worked in downtown Atlanta to live outside the city, but allowed city workers to travel to Atlanta via street cars. Immediately, Atlanta’s elite moved to the area and began building extravagant homes, many of which are still standing today. The area is also named after Samuel Inman who was a prominent Atlanta businessman and cotton merchant from the area.

About Inman Park

For home buyers, Inman Park offers a charming, quiet place to live without sacrificing any of the amenities in Atlanta. Home seekers will find historic bungalows, foursquares, single-family homes, shotguns, and condos all along tree-lined quiet streets. There are also many multi-million dollar properties in Inman Park including Victorian, Queen Anne, Italianate, and Romanesque mansions. When you make Inman Park your home, you will find friendly neighbors and a strong sense of community.

Adding to the character of the area, is Inman Park’s interesting history. Originally, the suburb was founded in the 1880s. However, in the 20th century, the neighborhood went through a long period of decline. This decline was mostly due to the popularity of the automobile. When the car was developed, it allowed people who worked downtown to live farther away from the city. Fortunately, the area has been revitalized and is once again one of the most desired suburbs to live in the Atlanta area.

In addition to the suburb’s charm and relaxing environment there are also many things to do in Inman Park. Freedom Park is a great place to relax and enjoy green spaces. Meanwhile, the Little Five Points area of Inman Park and the Highland business district offer a variety of shops and restaurants to enjoy.

Inman Park’s extremely low crime rate, easy access to downtown, midtown, and Buckhead make this suburb the perfect neighborhood for many Georgians including young professionals, families with children, and retired seniors as well.
